Slow and steady wins the race

True, recovery takes many months of hard work, sometimes years of work. And, we believe, in your recovery, you should be able to “turn up the volume” on your workouts. As you strengthen, you should be able to slowly challenge yourself to more and more difficult routines and longer periods of time in your movement. That is why there are generally four levels of intensity on our site.

We always start with beds. Whether our friends are non-ambulatory, recovering from an injury or illness, or merely desiring to begin or end their day with stretching, we created our foundational level for people right from their bed. Earlier we explained that we even have two levels from our beds: lying down and seated. Our goal is to get our friends up and out of that bed. If there is the desire, we will help.

We never get on the floor at funandmoving. It is simply too difficult to get up from on their own for most people. We are very cognizant of that.

Our second level of exercise starts and ends in a chair but adds a standing portion to work on strength and balance.

It is only at our third level that the entire routine is standing. It is high intensity, low impact. Some may jump in at this level to start, but we have provided a way for others to work up to this level. This is our goal for the people who choose funandmoving. Let us get you to standing and moving confidently on your own. If you gain that level of confidence and you are able to progress to another exercise site for even more intense workouts, we applaud you and are happy for you. While we may lose you as a customer, our main goal is to get everyone so healthy they can graduate to other more traditional “exercise” sites.  But it all starts with basic movement and proper long-term recovery from whatever challenges you may face.

We are here for you... to get you well again.
